The physical, psychological, and emotional journeys for women, if shared and understood, can lead to incredible personal growth, community-wide empowerment, and positive systemic change. In her new work One in Four, One in Eight for Agarita, Katherine Pukinskis explores four emotional chapters during her own journey, from anticipation to disorientation, loss, and ultimately strength.

Gallery Opening: Raíces y Recuerdos

This vibrant new exhibition curated by Jon Hinojosa launches the 2025-2026 Agarita Loft Exhibition season and is part of Xicanx Month in San Antonio. The Exhibit spotlights a powerful collective of emerging and established Chicano artists whose work speaks to identity, memory, and cultural resistance. Through mixed media, painting, sculpture, and installation, the show explores the intersection of tradition and innovation rooted in the Mexican American experience.

Each artist brings their own narrative—steeped in family, ritual, food, land, and community—to the forefront, reflecting the complexities of what it means to be Chicano today. The exhibit invites audiences to witness how cultural pride, resilience, and artistic expression become tools for storytelling and transformation.

Featuring Artwork by Patricia Ortiz, Jose Cosme, Jose Sotelo Yamasaki, Raul Rene Gonzalez, Julene Franki, Laura Delmis, and Xelena Gonzalez.

Join Daniel, Unheard-of Ensemble, and PART Ensemble as they come together for an intimate evening of chamber works from our guest faculty composers. Highlights include Meg Okura’s Phantasmagoria, Annika Socolofsky’s Turadh performed jointly by both ensembles, and solo/duo works by PART’s Carter Williams, including Socolofsky’s Bolder and his own Ring World. The program also features a dance solo accompanied by PART Ensemble.
