“It was an important experience for our students to hear and learn about this genre of music and at the same time, connect it to what they learn during social studies.” - SAISD teacher, May 2022

Agarita Inspires! Team

Agarita Inspires! was born out of a shared passion of Agarita’s four core members, all of whom have extensive teaching experience that ranges from early childhood education to K-12 certification, through the college and university level. Agarita Inspires! is directed by Agarita’s cellist, Ignacio Gallego, who was the Assistant Director of Strings at Alamo Heights High School for 5 years. In addition, Agarita has recruited some of the most skilled and renowned educators to assist in the development and execution of Agarita Inspires! Our advisory team includes Jeremy Brimhall, the former Director of Education and Community Engagement of the San Antonio Symphony, Tiffany Richardson, the co-founder of music education nonprofit Sound Impact and Director of Community Engagement with the National Philharmonic in Washington, D.C., as well as other nonprofit institutions and musicians across the country.

With your help, Agarita can bring meaningful music education to over 36,000 students by 2024.
