Shea Daniel-Youngblood

Shea Daniel-Youngblood is an oil painter living and working in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her BA from Southwest Texas State University and has taught art at the high school level. Although she has long been connected to art and education, Shea began painting regularly only a few years ago, jumpstarting her practice through a plein air painting class led by Maren Phillips.

Her work is rooted in observation, movement, and the intimate experience of place. Traveling throughout San Antonio, Shea is drawn to fleeting moments—a shadow, a stoplight, a quiet intersection, or an unexpected scene that asks to be noticed. Through her paintings, she seeks to tell the story of a subject as it is being experienced, capturing relationships, interactions, intersections, and connections she is privileged to witness, even briefly.

Shea’s paintings reflect a deep attentiveness to the city around her, transforming everyday encounters into expressive visual narratives of time, place, and presence.
