Deja Coleman

Deja Coleman is a 21-year-old mixed media contemporary artist from San Antonio, Texas. Her calling has been in the arts for the duration of her life but began practicing professionally around 7 years ago. Her main focus for the past 4 years has been ceramics and sculptural work, but she has worked with many different media, including drawing, ceramics, metalwork, collage, oil and acrylic painting. Coleman has a passion for depicting real life through surrealism in order to fully understand everyday life. Her work has been featured in group shows across San Antonio for the past three years, and many more to come. Coleman has had 3 past series of works, two of which have been featured in shows. Currently, she is experimenting with her own handmade wood-fired kiln for her next series of ceramic work, along with a mixed-media collage working with found newspapers.
