Michael Drahl

Michael Drahl is a photographer and mixed-media artist whose creative journey began at age six, when he studied privately with Sr. Camila, a kind but demanding nun who encouraged him to “go for it” in his artwork. That early encouragement stayed with him through his years as a cartoonist for the Quincy College campus newspaper from 1976 to 1979.

After putting his art on hold for more than four decades to raise a family and make a living, Michael returned to creative practice in 2024 with a renewed sense of freedom, curiosity, and joy. Today, he expresses himself through photography, mosaics, ceramics, and his playful digital photo edits, which he shares on Instagram at @miked_tweaks.

Using his iPhone 12 as his primary camera, Michael captures images with humor, personality, and a keen eye for the unexpected. His work reflects a lifelong creative spirit finally given the space to explore, experiment, and “go for it.”
